Pharmacy Configuration Guide
This is the recommended setup order for pharmacy so prescribing, dispensing, stock control, and billing stay synchronized.
1. Master Data
Start with clean drug, store, and pricing data before automating orders.
Create stores by hospital, department, and manager
Load generic catalog, brand aliases, dosage forms, strength, ATC code
Set reorder levels, units of measure, pricing, and active status
Decide whether each item is chargeable, insured, or restricted
2. Operational Controls
Define how orders flow from clinician to dispenser and into billing.
Map prescribing roles, approval thresholds, and controlled drug rules
Define stock issue workflow, substitution policy, and stock-out handling
Configure offline bridge endpoint and monitor pharmacy bridge availability
Capture dispense events, batch traceability, and cancellation reasons
3. Financial And Safety Controls
Make sure medication events affect both safety analytics and revenue integrity.
Link drug orders to patient encounter, payer, and claim status
Run allergy, interaction, and contraindication checks before dispense
Surface denied claims, unbilled orders, and repeated stock-outs
Feed dispensing data into discharge, surveillance, and SDG reporting
